The Empowerment Factory
The Empowerment Factory is a non-profit that offers classes and events for K-8 students in the Providence, Pawtucket, and Central Falls areas both in-person and remotely. We host K-8 students from across Rhode Island with remote and one day events.
The Empowerment Factory (TEF) is dedicated to giving children the skills they need to lead happier, healthier, more empowered lives.
The project-based learning approach focuses on three areas of development: creativity, self-esteem, and civic pride. Every child should feel that they matter and can make a difference in the world around them.

Accessibility: The Empowerment Factory is centered inside a factory with a beautiful ramp right up the front into the building. They do not have push buttons on the doors, but the doors are very light and there’s usually somebody around to help you get in.
The Empowerment Factory has tables and desks fitted for wheelchair users to work or join the conversation. There is also a back door for easier access to the back rooms.

Vintage Peach Beauty
Vintage Peach Beauty is located in the historic Hope Artiste Village, An artists collective, right in the heart of Pawtucket, RI.
Opened spring of 2023 by Lauren Clark, Vintage Peach Beauty offers a variety of beauty services and eclectic handmade items.
With fun, dopamine inducing decor and hand painted murals by Lauren herself, you are SURE to feel an instant mood boost just walking in.

Accessibility: This is a beauty salon located inside an old factory building in Pawtucket. They have a ramp right out the front of the building. There is no push buttons on the doors, but the doors are fairly lights with an accessible parking spot right out front.
The salon is easily rolled around for those and manual chairs the chairs for the beds for eyelashes waxing or getting a haircut. Could be done either from your chair or you could transfer into their
As for power chair users, you can either tilt your chairs back. There is plenty of room to be in the rooms where the tables are to the sinks and in front of the mirrors.

Oakley Home Access
Oakley Home Access is a unique team of home safety experts who are passionate about aging in place, fall prevention, and home accessibility. We are owned and operated by a registered, licensed, CAPS certified Contractors and a registered, licensed Occupational Therapists. We provide free home safety assessments with function and safety in mind. Collaborating with individuals and their loved ones and healthcare providers in order to create simple solutions for maximizing mobility.
Oakley Home Access opened their first Showroom in Narragansett Rhode Island in June of 2018, proudly featuring a wide variety of EZ Access products: Modular Ramps, Vertical Platform Lifts, and Portable Ramps. Also on display, Oakley Home Access features Brooks & Handicare Stair Lifts, a modified bathroom outfitted with CleanCut, Moen, Delta, & Drive Products, as well as wide variety of adaptive equipment for around the house including Stander Products.

Accessibility: The rooms at the Jonnycake Center are very open and accessible. They do have an elevator to get to the second floor. This is a food pantry that also provide food options for individuals who are gluten-free.
In the Spring, they will be painting an accessible parking spot, as well as updating a bathroom to be fully accessible.

Accessibility: The Santa house is a fully accessible house all decorated for Christmas and all of its charms. The intent is to give an experience to those with physical and intellectual disabilities. Each child and their family gets 10 to 15 minutes alone to acclimate themselves to the house and into Santa Claus and could take pictures with your cell phone the entire time. This entire experience is free of charge to all

Accessibility: This is a fully accessible wheelchair van location. They sell, service, and rent accessible vans. They also have other items, such as wheelchairs, scooters, and chairs that help you stand. The business is family operated, and they will pick up and drop off your van if need be.

The Life Cafe
Exclusively brewing New Harvest Coffee Roasters, The LIFE Café offers a variety of coffee based and non coffee based drinks, delicious breakfast sandwiches and scones, cookies and Shri Bark, locally sourced from Cross Country Cookies. LIFE Cafe’s goal is to offer our neighbors a welcoming and inclusive space to gather and build community together! We also provide vocational evaluations and assessment to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through ORS and BHDDH.
